Buying bowls

A 9cm dip bowl and a 29cm Raio coupe bracket this range, with most of the DPS catalogue in between: Valier bowls in five sizes, footed and oatmeal bowls in the Modest colours, oval salad bowls and deep bowls down to 8cm for sauces. About half of it lands between one pound fifty and fifteen pounds each.

Depth is the decision that matters. Deep bowls hold heat and hide portion size; a wide coupe shows off the food but cools fast and needs a bigger portion to look honest. Buy the dips and sides in multiples of your busiest table plan, because they leave the kitchen six at a time.
